Betting Terminology — A Guide for Beginners
Get familiar with the key terms used in betting and casino games. The right knowledge will make your decision-making smarter.
RTP (Return to Player)
The theoretical average percentage of total bets that is returned to players over the long term in a game. For example, a 96% RTP means that on average ৳96 is likely to be returned for every ৳100 wagered.
House Edge
The mathematical advantage built into every game on a casino or betting platform. It is the opposite of RTP — the lower the house edge, the better it is for the player.
Wager / Stake
The amount of money you place on each bet is called the stake or wager. In bonus terms, wagering means how many times the bonus amount must be played as bets.
Odds
A numerical way of expressing the probability of an event and the potential payout. In cricket betting, the higher the odds, the greater the profit if you win.
Parlay / Accumulator
A method of combining bets on multiple events into a single ticket. If every event is correct, the reward multiplies, but if any one is wrong, the entire bet is lost.
Live Bet
The ability to place bets in real time while a match or game is in progress. In cricket, odds change after each over or wicket, giving strategic bettors an opportunity.
Cashout
The ability to withdraw a set amount from a bet before the match ends. It is used to lock in a win or reduce a loss.
Bankroll
The total amount of money set aside specifically for betting. Healthy bankroll management is the foundation of responsible gaming.
Volatility
Measures the level of risk and reward in a game. High volatility means less frequent wins but larger rewards; low volatility means smaller but more frequent wins.
Free Spin
The opportunity to spin for free in a slot game, usually received from bonus offers or special in-game features.
Wagering Requirement
How many times the bonus amount must be played as bets before it can be withdrawn. For the 0tk10 welcome bonus, this is 15x.
Spread
In sports betting, a method of setting a points or runs difference between two teams to balance the betting. Run spread betting is quite popular in cricket.
